Oxo Stainless Dish Racks

If you have kids like I do you know how quickly the dishes can pile up in the sink. Last summer I installed a brand new stainless steel sink in the kitchen to replace an older sink that was showing signs of rusting. A few days later I came home from work and found the usual pile of dishes and such piled high. As I was emptying them into the dishwasher I noticed that my wonderful new sink had rust marks where someone had left an iron skillet sitting there all day! Thank goodness that the sink itself was stainless steel, that made the cleanup easier, but I knew that if I wanted my sink to look as good as it did now for years to come I needed to get a dish rack.

I tell them that they need to look at the total lifespan of anything they buy. Stainless steel will outlast many homes because of its resistance to rust and corrosion. I'd rather buy something that will last a lifetime then have to spend money on the same thing every few years.

Sometimes the best way to show a person the qualities of something is to put it in their hands. So that is what I did with a few friends this past holiday season. I purchased a variety of Oxo products, including the stainless steel dish rack, and gave them away as gifts. It always makes me feel good when I go over to their house now and see them using the products in their kitchens and throughout the house. And the funny thing is I noticed something else – these people are now buying more and more stainless steel items, including appliances. I guess seeing and using really is believing!
